The Shimano Hg 9Sp Chain Pin 6.5mm 50/Pkg is great for use with Shimano HyperGlide (HG/HG-X) and InterGlide (IG) chains. The new generation 10-speed road (7901/7900/7801, 6701/6700/6600,5701/5600) and mountain (M980, HG94/74) chains use a permanent three-groove/guide connector pin. The 1st generation 10-speed (7800) chains required a single-groove/guide connector pin but are no longer available and should be replaced with a complete, new-gen chain.
